MTH 161 - Introductory Statistics

[3 credit(s)]
Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in MTH 115 or suitable placement-exam score. Not open to students who have previously earned credit for or are currently taking MTH 147. This course is an introduction to statistical concepts and methodology. Students will learn methods of describing, organizing, and exploring data, and be introduced to probability concepts that form the foundation of statistical inference. An emphasis is estimation and inference procedures for means and proportions. Students will also study correlation and regression.
