SWK 618 - Clinical Practicum II

[3 credit(s)]
Prerequisites: SWK 501-510 or advanced standing admission, SWK 612. Co-requisites: SWK 616 & SWK 617. This is the second of two clinical practicum that students in the clinical social work specialization complete. Students complete 250 hours of field placement in their assigned setting, under the supervision of their field instructors in this semester. The clinical practicum provides students with the opportunity to develop competencies in clinical social work practice, building upon generalist practice skills. Students will integrate and apply the knowledge, values, and skills developed in their course work to develop clinical social work competencies for engaging assessing, and intervening with individuals, families, and groups in clinical practice settings. The clinical field practicum is systematically designed, supervised, and coordinated. Students are evaluated on criteria by which they demonstrate the clinical social work competencies.
