Prerequisites: PHY 242/PHY 244/PHY 244H; any combination of 4 credits of MTH 220, MTH 281, MTH 283, MTH 284, MTH 288 or ESC 250. Temperature, entropy, thermal equilibrium, equations of state, thermodynamic potentials, thermodynamic stability, and phase transitions; applications, including fluids, electromagnetic radiation, and computer simulations.
