IST 450 - Web-Based Programming(4 credits) Prerequisite(s): IST 331; must have at least junior standing and be a declared major in the College of Business to be eligible for this course. Covers Web publishing and Web-based applications development with emphasis in accessing remote database information. Web site design concepts and tools are introduced, including Active-HTML, CGI, SGML, VRML, multimedia presentation. A survey of scripting languages for the Web includes Perl, VBScript, Jscript, JavaScript. The goal is to prepare students with skills for designing, creating, programming, publishing, and developing applications on the Web.
