Graduate Catalog 2016 - 2017 [ARCHIVED CATALOG]
Middle Childhood Science Education, Graduate Certificate
Debbie Jackson, Certificate Program Director
The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for teachers who hold a teaching certificate or license in Elementary (K-8 or 1-8) and who have completed five or more years of teaching science in one or more middle school grades to earn a university graduate certificate in middle childhood science. This program is not designed to lead to a license to teach middle school science. Individuals seeking to complete a licensure program should contact the Cleveland State University Education Student Service Advising Office at (216) 687-4625 for further information.
Prospective students should apply for graduate admission as a “certificate” student to register for classes. Applicants must meet the graduate certificate admission requirements detailed in the Admissions section of this Catalog. With program permission, non-degree graduate students may enroll in the courses noted below, but non-degree graduate students cannot earn a University graduate certificate. Degree-seeking graduate students who hold Regular admission status also may be admitted to the certificate program. Credits earned for the certificate may be applied toward a graduate degree, as approved by the student’s graduate program director and in keeping with the policies of the College of Graduate Studies.
Application materials should be submitted to the Graduate Admissions Office.
