Student Belonging & Success

CARE Management

www.csuohio.edu/care

As our name indicates, our department cares about our students. Cleveland State University is committed to supporting our undergraduate and graduate students as they face barriers and challenges to their educational success. CARE offers resources and referrals for students, support and outreach for faculty and staff, and collaborates across campus and throughout Ohio to provide options and advocacy. Whether someone is facing concerns at school or at home, on-campus or remotely, CARE is here to help. We also encourage and promote a culture where concerns are reported. If a CSU community member is struggling or needs assistance, email magnusacts@csuohio.edu so a CARE Manager can reach out.

Mission Statement: The goal of the CARE Manager is to provide holistic support to members of the CSU community, to connect students with resources on and off-campus, and to increase collaboration between campus partners.

What to Expect: All students who submit an email or who are referred by email to magnusacts@csuohio.edu will be assigned a CARE Manager. A CARE Manager will reach out to the individual to see how CARE may be helpful. A CARE Manager provides support and case management services for members of the CSU Community and works with students to develop an action plan to address the student’s individual needs. A CARE Manager also helps navigate policies and procedures on campus, connects with support systems, and determines what resources might be most helpful. There is also Clinical CARE offered through Counseling and Health who provide confidential case management including assistance with applying for insurance, locating resources for food and shelter, and connecting to a therapist in the community.

Accessing CARE: Email magnusacts@csuohio.edu or call 216.687.2048 to refer someone or make a self-referral.
