The Monte Ahuja College of Business prepares its graduates for professional careers in business, government, and nonprofit organizations. The College offers two baccalaureate degrees: the BBA and the BSCIS.
The BBA degree within the Monte Ahuja College of Business requires students to explore the world of business in society, to develop managerial, technical, ethical, and critical thinking skills, and to understand the roles and responsibilities of individuals as citizens, managers, and professionals. This is accomplished through a carefully designed curriculum of “lower-division” business requirements and general education courses in the humanities, natural science, mathematics, and the social sciences. Students in the BSCIS program begin their technical education with a similar combination of computer and information science and general education courses.
The upper-division program of study in business permits students to acquire a broad foundation of knowledge and skills in the functional areas of business, including accounting, finance, international business, marketing, organizational behavior, human resources management, information systems, and supply chain management . Within a business major, the student acquires specialized knowledge and skills. Emphasis is placed upon individual initiative, teamwork, integrative and critical thinking, ethical analysis, and strategic decision-making skills. Students are provided fundamental tools as well as knowledge about advances in management practice and thought to assist them in meeting the management and leadership responsibilities in their business, civic, and personal lives. The upper division program of study in computer and information science consists of advanced elective courses that permit students to major in CIS or computer science (CSC).

Introduction
- A minimum of 128 credit hours of academic work is required for all students. One hour of is required of all freshmen.
- The accumulation of quality points must total a minimum of 2.00 times the number of credit hours taken both for business courses and overall.
- Distribution of course work will vary within the requirements for each of the college degrees.
The general course requirements of Cleveland State University and the College of Business are listed in this section for the lower- and upper-division years. In addition, students complete the requirements of the major field and electives of their choice during the final two years. Students are responsible for satisfying course prerequisites and taking courses in the correct sequence.
BBA students must complete all of the business core courses before enrolling in MLR 465 - Management Strategy & Policy , the BBA program’s capstone course.
The College of Business may remove students from classes and/or revoke credit for courses taken out of sequence or without the required prerequisites. Students may be required to take additional courses to substitute for courses taken out of sequence. Students with questions about prerequisites or sequencing should see an academic adviser.
BBA: Entry Level Requirements
All BBA students must complete the lower division core (entry level requirements/additional coursework) with the appropriate academic standards prior to completing any course(s) from the upper division core or 300/400 level major course work. BSCIS: Entry Level Requirements
All BSCIS students must complete lower divisional core (entry level requirements/additional coursework) with the appropriate academic standards completing any course(s) from 300/400 level major course work.

NOTE: Students outside of the Monte Ahuja College of Business may be allowed to enroll in business courses. However, accreditation rules require that no more than 25 percent (32 semester hours) of the coursework that is counted toward a non-business bachelor’s degree can be business courses unless the student also completes all of the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) courses listed for the College of Business. The Monte Ahuja College of Business Undergraduate Advising Center provides services for current and prospective students. The Undergraduate Business Advising Center serves all undergraduate students of the Monte Ahuja College of Business regarding on-going academic advising issues such as understanding University, College and Major requirements, as well as developing long term graduation roadmap plans and completing graduation application evaluations. Undergraduate Business Advisors can also help current students with issues regarding College and University petition requests, exploring scholarship opportunities within the College and discussing career/internship issues. The Center also provides transfer information services for students seeking to transfer to the Monte Ahuja College of Business. Note: This service is only available for students who have completed college level course work in the United States. Mandatory Transfer Student Advising
Transfer students accepted into the Monte Ahuja College of Business must attend one mandatory academic advising appointment in order to complete registration transactions prior to the semester. All new Business students must review their academic program (major) of study and develop a graduation degree completion plan. Declaring a Major
A major may be declared upon admission to a degree program at the university or upon completion of 60 credits. Students must meet with an academic advisor in the College of Business Advising Office before submitting a request for a major declaration and a major change.
CSU College to College Transfer Policy
Students enrolled in a college at Cleveland State other than the Monte Ahuja College of Business who wish to be considered for transfer to the Monte Ahuja College of Business should complete

. The College of Business requires a C or better in each of these courses, and an overall GPA of at least 2.0. The GPA will be calculated excluding remedial courses. Please note, pending college to college transfer students must continue to work with their current College Advising Office until the above requirements have been met and the student will be officially assigned a College of Business Advisor.
Add/Withdrawal Policy
After the drop deadline, a business student must file a college petition for late withdrawal. Petition forms may be obtained at the College Advising Center website at www.csuohio.edu/business/academics/undergraduate/ugard_asc.html. Late registrations or adds are not permitted after the first week of class without authorization from both the instructor of the course(s) and the college advising office.
