Co-requisite: EST 574. Provides experience in identifying, choosing, and preparing for appropriate methods and instruction based on backward planning, which integrates assessment as an ongoing element of instruction. Candidates gain experience in employing authentic materials and creating meaningful tasks to prepare lessons based on the needs and characteristics of students pre-K-12, which they may use in the co-requisite course. Learners critically review current research in relation to theory and national and state standards for foreign language instruction and establish connections to professional organizations in foreign language teaching and research.
