BIO 830 - Recombinant DNA

Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate students, Nondegree graduates ineligible to enroll in 600/700/800 level graduate courses. Prerequisite: BIO 504/704. Theoretical background and practical application of plasmids, restriction and modifying enzymes, lambda phage, and vectors. Discussion of genomic and cDNA libraries and a variety of detection systems for isolating and characterizing cloned DNA, including hybridization techniques and DNA sequence analysis.
