EDC 500 - Diversity in Edu Settings(3 credits) Prerequisite(s): Must be admitted as a graduate student to be eligible for this course. Focuses on issues related to the education of culturally and linguistically diverse children, gifted children, and children with special needs. Gender issues in education and the relation of diversity to all areas of the teaching-learning process are discussed. Course work involves the development of effective strategies for teaching all children about diversity and for promoting positive relationships among teachers, parents, and children. Required for early childhood teaching license, pre-kindergarten endorsement, and TESOL endorsement.
