NUR 616 - Practicum in Pop Health Care

(4 credits)
Prerequisite(s): NUR 601 , NUR 605 , and NUR 615 ; Co-requisite: NUR 607 . Provides students with an opportunity to synthesize and apply their understanding of forensic and population health concepts and theories as well as nursing frameworks with individuals and communities experincing, students plan, execute, and evaluate nursing practice within the context of the practice setting(s).Within the practice situation, students enact leadership roles to expand, enhance, and optimize positive outcomes for individuals or communities experencing violence or traumatic incidences.Includes a clinical seminar in which students analyze patterns of health care delivery to individuals or communities experencing violence or traumatic incidences, examine factors that influence decision making, appraise the impact of inter-professional collaboration on outcomes, and their own efficiency as forensic nurse experts.
