PED 539 - Therap Recreation/Disability

(3 credits)
Prerequisite(s): Grad course eligibility for undergraduates: credits earned greater than or equal to 144 and gpa 2.75 OR level is graduate. Examination of leisure/recreation services available for individuals with disabilities; study of impact of federal legislation on the provision for and accessibility of diverse recreational opportunities including high risk, adventure activities; and analysis of elite sport opportunities for individuals with disabilities including the study of national governing bodies that are responsible for the competition with emphasis on the International Paralympic Movement.
