PHY 560 - Laser Physics & Photonoics

Prerequisite(s): Grad course eligibility for undergraduates: credits earned greater than or equal to 144 and gpa 2.75 OR level is graduate. Basics of laser operation and photonics. Topics include spontaneous and stimulated emission laser types, optical detectors, integrated optics, rate equation models for lasers, quantum noise limits, and elementary nonlinear optics.
