EST 488 - Student Teaching For Moderate/Severe Educational Needs[10 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Must be a declared major or be enrolled as a post-baccalaureate student; must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50, a 2.75 in all professional education courses, and have completed all prerequisite work. University-supervised student-teaching experience in two separate education settings: one for students with mental retardation and multiple disabilities, and one for students with emotional disturbance. Five days a week for one semester observing and teaching under a cooperating teacher’s direction. Successful completion requires demonstration of competencies necessary for licensure as a Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist.
