GET 285 - Science of Alternative Energy[3 credit(s)] This course covers present-day energy systems and covers an in-depth analysis of the design and installation of alternative energy systems. The focus is on renewable energy sources (wind, solar, biomass), but other non-carbon-emitting sources (nuclear) and lowered-carbon sources (co-generative gas turbine plants, fuel cells) also are studied. Both the devices as well as the overall systems are analyzed. Laboratory experiments will demonstrate wind turbines, solar panels, and fuel cells.
