PSC 326 - Politics of the Third World[3 credit(s)] Prerequisite: Must have at least sophomore standing to be eligible for this course. Problems and political dynamics of “developing states and societies” through a study of specific African, Asian, Latin-American, and Middle Eastern countries; class and ethnic conflict; the role of the military and bureaucracy; the capacity of the state to promote economic development and political order; role of global and regional system security and development; structural adjustment and regional autonomy policies.
