PHL 313 - Environmental Ethics[3 credit(s)] Students will read excerpts from original texts of moral theorists, e.g. Aristotle in order to be able to identify, use and critique some major ethical theoretical approaches, e.g., a deontological approach. These studies will form important background knowledge to be put to use in the analysis of issues in environmental ethics. Classic and contemporary works in environmental ethics will be examined in order to enrich our knowledge of the ongoing debates and the developing agenda of the subject, noting the growing importance for social decision-making.
