MUS 381 - Jazz Theory & Improvisation I

(2 credits)
Prerequisite(s): Music major status or permission of instructor. Theory and practice of spontaneous composition/performance in a jazz style, with emphasis on the 12-bar blues form, modal materials, and melodic derivatives of harmonic progressions.
