WLC 334 - The Ancient World at War: Greece and Persia[3 credit(s)] Pre-req: Gen Ed Eng/Comp. This on-line course examines one of the most important and definitive clashes between East and West in the ancient world: the Persian Wars. Both the Greek and the Persian sides will be considered. Special emphasis will be placed upon the rise of the Persian Empire under the great kings, the reasons for the conflict, the nature of Greek and Persian culture, politics, and warfare in the fifth century BC, and the use and limitations of the source material.
