HIS 503 - Recent U.S. Social History(3 credits) Traces social change in the United States from the Civil War to the present with special emphasis on changing social class formation, family, neighborhood, community, race, ethnicity, gender, and work. Traces major structural changes in society, politics, and economy in relation to social transformations and the impact of technological change, urbanization, and bureaucracy, as well as the field’s historiography.
