OTH 516 - Occupational Therapy Foundations(4 credits) Prerequisite: Enrollment in MOT Program. An introductory course on the history, philosophy, core concepts, language, reasoning, basic tools, and practice arenas of occupational therapy. Articulates the nature of humans as occupational beings and the central role of occupation in the person’s life. Emphasizes activity analysis as a core tool of occupational therapy. Standards of practice and the roles of the occupational therapist in a variety of service delivery models are reviewed. Defines and describes evidence-based practice. Clinical reasoning is introduced and applied through case examples.
