ALD 510 - Learner Assessment in Health Professions Education(3 credits) Students will review assessment fundamentals and their theoretical underpinnings including trends in competency-based assessment and high-stakes assessment and be introduced to a survey of assessment methods used in health professions education and examine validity, reliability, feasibility and educational considerations. The importance of student self-assessment will be addressed along with strategies to help students monitor their own learning and reflect on ways to improve performance. Each learner will be required to design an assessment approach for their Capstone Project. This course includes a total of 30 contact hours.
