HIS 509 - American Immigrant History

A survey of immigration to America from the 1830s to the present. Focuses on the religious, work, political, and cultural life of various immigrant groups, as well as the process of adaptation and Americanization. The rise of anti-immigrant movements and efforts to restrict immigration are also emphasized.
