ART 286 - African Art: Ancestral Altars to Galleries[3 credit(s)] An introduction to the study of art history through the visual arts of Africa. The arts of nomads, villages, and kingdoms, as well as contemporary trends and market forces, allow students to better understand objects in social, religious, and political context through writing and discussion. Typically includes a visit to the Cleveland Museum of Art and exposure to CSU’s African art collection.
