COM 362 - Health Communication[3 credit(s)] This course examines the role of communication in healthcare interactions and the dissemination and interpretation of health-related messages. Students will gain foundational knowledge of communication in interpersonal health interactions (e.g., patient/provider, family caregiving), communication in healthcare organizations, health communication and technology, and the impact of communication on public health (e.g., crisis and risk communication, communication interventions to prevent illness and disease). Students will leave this course better equipped to communicate in personal and professional health contexts.
