ECN 643 - Advanced Macroeconomics

Prerequisites: ECN 610 or equivalent and ECN 301 or equivalent. This course explores theoretical and empirical issues of central importance to macroeconomic research and policy. The major topics covered in this course include economic growth, consumption and savings, macro asset pricing, investment, real business cycles, money and business cycle fluctuations, and unemployment. The course also explores the relationship between inflation and output, inflation and discretionary monetary policy. In addition, the course examines the implications of macroeconomic theory for macroeconomic data.
