ART 253 - Michelangelo to Monet[3 credit(s)] An introduction to the study of art history and to the visual arts from the Renaissance masters to modernist developments such as Impressionism, Cubism, and Abstract Expressionism. Students gain skills in looking at works of art, discussing objects in terms of historical, religious, political, and cultural contexts, and writing descriptively. Typically includes visits to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
