FIN 610 - Real Estate Finance

Prerequisite: FIN 601. This course is designed for those who are interested in the financing aspect of real estate. The course will provide a rigorous introduction to the fundamental principles of real estate and their applications. Specifically, it provides a conceptual and analytical framework whereby legal and market environment can be viewed and understood in a unified context of risk and return as it is the key to real estate financing. Application of mathematics and statistics including probability theory, statistical analysis, computation, and simulation methods will be used in various financial models including mortgage calculation, refinancing decision, MBS rating etc. The course prepares students for future careers such as real estate consultant or mortgage analyst.
