AST 490 - Africana Studies Professional Internship[1-3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Junior or senior standing, and permission of director. An internship with a public or private non-profit agency that combines work experience, typically unpaid, with academic research and analysis. The Africana Studies Program Internship provides an opportunity for the major or minor to apply academic competencies to a workplace environment. Through the internship, the student will gain valuable work experience, which will enhance professional development with first-hand experience in the world of work.
