SWK 712 - Advanced Clinical Practicum I[3 credit(s)]
Prerequisites: MSW degree or approval of faculty. This is an advanced clinical practicum that post MSW students may choose to complete. Students complete 250 hours of field placement in their assigned setting, under the supervision of their field instructors in this semester. The clinical practicum provides students with the opportunity to develop competencies in advanced clinical social work practice, building upon generalist practice skills. Students will integrate and apply the knowledge, values, and skills developed in their course work to develop clinical social work competencies for engaging assessing, and intervening with individuals, families, and groups in clinical practice settings. The advanced clinical field practicum is systematically designed, supervised, and coordinated. Students are evaluated on criteria by which they demonstrate the clinical social work competencies.
