NUR 606 - Capstone Practicum

[4 credit(s)]
Prerequisites: Completion of NUR 506, NUR 503, NUR 604. Documentation of completion of required health and program requirements. Approved preceptor placement. This course provides students with the opportunity to synthesize and apply their understanding of population health concepts, theories, and nursing frameworks with a population of their choice and along the continuum of care. In this culminating experience, students execute and evaluate nursing practice within the context of the practice setting or among populations in communities. Within the practice situations, students enact leadership roles to expand, enhance and optimize positive outcomes for their population. The practicum will allow students to analyze patterns of health care delivery to populations, examine factors that influence decision making, apprise the impact of inter-professional collaboration on outcomes and their own efficacy as a population health nursing expert.
