SWK 200 - Introduction to Social Work[3 credit(s)] This course entitled Introduction to Social Work is offered to students who plan to major in Social Work. It has been designed and developed to comply with the new University’s core curriculum requirements. This course introduces students to concepts, settings, and vulnerable populations related to the field of social work. Emphasis is placed on the purposes, values, ethics, knowledge, and skills that characterize the professional social worker. It provides an overview of theoretical and practical knowledge about the social work profession needed for entry levels of practice in social work.
