EXS 471 - Exercise Programs for Special Populations

[3 credit(s)]
Prerequisite: EXS 470/EXS 570 Exercise Testing & Prescription (or equivalent). Study of the principles of exercise testing and prescription for special populations including clinical (i.e. cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, orthopedic, neuromuscular, & cognitive disease; cancer, HIV) and lifespan (i.e. youth, elderly, women) populations. This course is designed to help prepare students for various clinical certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
