MTH 165 - Intensive Precalculus I

[3 credit(s)]
Prerequisite: Grade of “S(C)” or better in MTH 87, or suitable placement test score. Detailed study of functions including linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, root/radical/power, exponential, logarithmic, piecewise-defined, and inverse functions; graphing techniques; solutions of a variety of equations and of systems of linear equations; partial fraction decomposition; solutions of polynomial and rational inequalities. Appropriate technology is used to explore concepts in this course. Only 3 credit hours of MTH 165 or MTH 167 will count towards graduation requirements. MTH 165 requires class contact time of 8 credit hours and will be applied towards both financial aid and term billing as 5 credit hours.
