CIS 493 - Senior Design I

Pre-/co-requisites: Completion of the Core Curriculum Research & Professional Writing requirement; CIS 345. The first of two senior design courses, focuses on integrating, synthesizing, and applying knowledge and skills already gained across the computer science curriculum in a real-world setting. Working in small groups, students produce a formal project proposal with requirements specification, system design, implementation, testing, schedule, costs and deliverables. Through iterations of, and presentations on, project ideas, design options and draft proposals, students develop and demonstrate abilities in critical thinking, group work, information literacy, oral communication, quantitative literacy, and writing.
