NUR 342H - Scientific Inquiry and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) (Honors)

Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program or permission of instructor, completion of the Core Curriculum Research & Professional Writing requirement, participation in the Honors program, and TBSN/ABSN: NUR 251; OABSN: NUR 249. Corequisite: None. This honors section of NUR 342 offers an enriched academic experience for highly motivated students to the principles of scientific inquiry and evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing. Students will learn to critically appraise research, integrate best evidence into clinical decision-making, and apply EBP models to improve patient outcomes. Emphasis is placed on developing skills for literature review, data interpretation, and translating evidence into practice using the latest guidelines and frameworks. In addition to the standard NUR 342 course content honors students will more fully differentiate research and evidence-based practice, delve into and elaborate on various evidence-based practice models.
