Introduction
The graduate certificate program in nursing education allows nurses with existing baccalaureate or master’s degrees in nursing to acquire the skills acquire the skills and competencies needed for the teaching and clinical supervision of nursing students. The program is designed to prepare graduates to be clinical faculty members in schools of nursing or staff development instructors in health care or related facilities. The program concentrates on curriculum design and development, instructional design, use of technology in the classroom, clinical teaching, faculty and student roles, and the supervision and evaluation in clinical areas.
Admission Information
Students must hold either a baccalaureate or master’s degree in nursing and have a current license to practice nursing in Ohio. Applicants must meet the graduate certificate admission requirements detailed in the Admissions section of this Catalog. Application materials should be submitted to the Graduate Admissions Office.

Certificate Requirements
Individuals who successfully complete the following 14 hours in nursing education coursework and practicum experiences with a grade of B or better are eligible to receive the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education granted by the University.
