Through the BA+MS or BS+MS program, students may complete a BA or BS with a Master of Science degree in five years, instead of the six academic years normally required of full-time students. High performing undergraduate students may apply to the 5-year program after the second year of undergraduate study and, if accepted, complete bachelor’s and master’s coursework during the third, fourth and fifth year.

Admission Requirements

In addition to meeting the admission requirements for the conventional MS program, to apply to the accelerated 4+1 program a student must

Have completed 60 undergraduate credit hours
Have completed MTH 181, MTH 182, and three of the following: MTH 220, MTH 281, MTH 286, or MTH 288
Have earned a GPA of 3.0 in Mathematics and maintained a 3.0 GPA overall.

Students who are accepted for an accelerated 4+1 program may apply or transfer a maximum of 12 graduate credit hours taken while an undergraduate to their graduate record. No additional graduate credit hours taken as an undergraduate may be applied or transferred to the graduate record.
