Introduction
The Graduate Certificate in Organizational Change is designed to provide the basic knowledge necessary for managers to be more effective leaders and change agents. The selected coursework capitalizes on the Management Department’s strengths by focusing on data driven decision making. This certificate is targeted toward existing MBA and MLRHR students at CSU and encourages them to tailor their elective course selections in a manner that will make them more marketable as potential leaders of change.
In today’s fast-paced and demanding corporate environment, it is more important than ever that organizational leaders and employees have the necessary skills to meet the daily challenges of change. Organizations are faced with increased competition, rapid change, and the need to remain agile.
A skilled change agent is able to diagnose and implement a change initiative within their own organization to create lasting and sustainable change. Ultimately a successful change agent is able to critically analyze the organization, identify issues at the individual, team, and organizational levels, and recommend or implement appropriate interventions in order to achieve the organizational goals. Skilled change agents are also able to integrate and embed these changes into the fabric of the institution by working with leadership to weave it into the reward systems, mission, and vision. CSU students with a Certificate in Organizational Change will be exposed to many of these topics through applied methods and team projects.
