Arts Management and Community Development Certificate

This certificate program is intended to develop the skills that students need to build successful careers as professional artists or to pursue careers in a variety of arts and community organizations. Students combine courses in an arts area (Art, Music, or Theater and Dance) with courses in Business, Communication, and Urban Studies. The certificate has two options; Arts Management, which emphasizes course work in Business and Communication, and Community Development, which focuses on courses in Communication and Urban Studies.

Requirements for Certificate: 15 credit hours, in addition to 9 credit hours of prerequisite courses
Prerequisites:
9 credit hours in Art, Music, Theatre, or Dance. Students should take care to complete any prerequisite courses for the Art(s) courses they plan to take as part of the Certificate requirements.
Arts - 3 credit hours chosen from the following electives:
Arts Management Track - 6 credit hours chosen from the following courses:
Community Development Track - 6 credit hours chosen from the following courses:
Notes:
Additional 6 credit hours of electives for both tracks can be drawn from any of the listed courses.
