The certificate program is a one-year, sixteen credit program, designed to offer an intensive area of study for students who wish to focus their skills as performers.

Admission Criteria
Students must have an earned undergraduate degree in music and must pass a highly competitive audition to be considered for the Professional Studies Certificate Program. Students should contact the music enrollment coordinator at m.c.bill@csuohio.edu or (216) 687-5039 for detailed information.
Curriculum:
The curriculum for the Professional Studies Certificate Program includes specialized studies in specific instrument or vocal areas, culminating in a recital, as well as large and small ensemble performing experiences. Instrumental Track: string, brass, woodwind, percussion - 16 credits
Keyboard Track - 16 credits
Who is eligible to enroll in the program?
Any student who has earned a baccalaureate degree in music is eligible to audition for the program. Students who have earned a graduate degree in music are eligible to pursue the certificate program as well. A student who has received an undergraduate degree, but has not applied for a Master of Music degree, may use credits earned in this certificate program to be applied toward a Master of Music degree at a later time.
