The Real Estate and Property Management certificate program is designed to focus on the principles, theories and practical implementation of skills required to be successful as real estate associates and/or property managers. This Certificate can prepare students wishing to pursue a career in Real Estate and Property Management by offering courses that are required to prepare for the Ohio Real Estate Licensure Exam, Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Certified Property Manager (CPM). Students should consult the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Real Estate at https://www.com.ohio.gov/real/ to determine the specific requirements for licensure or https://www.irem.org/certifications/for-individuals/cpm-certified-property-manager for certification requirements.
The certificate requires the completion of 12 credits. Students are required to take the three required courses listed for 9 credits, and then choose one elective for 3 credits, from the approved list. Students are required to meet all course prerequisites. A minimum grade of C is required in each required course to earn the certificate.
Students can transfer a maximum of 3 credits to the program from another institution. Transfer credits may only be applied to the elective course requirement; required courses must be taken at CSU.
