Description
Organizational Leadership majors develop the leadership skills necessary to be effective in our diverse global economy. They enhance problem-solving skills to promote positive organizational change and learn effective management concepts which can be applied to the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Graduates hold managerial and administrative roles in governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies. You may go on to hold positions including: Community Engagement Manager, Communications Officer, Development Professional, Director of Administration, Diversity Management, Executive Director, Grant Administrator, Healthcare, Human Resources Professional, Marketing Manager, Nonprofit Management, Program Specialist, Public Service, Social Services, Volunteer Coordinator.

Additional Information
- The degree program is a joint venture of the School of Urban Affairs, the Monte Ahuja College of Business, and the School of Communication. Students are admitted to the School of Urban Affairs, where the major is housed.
- Internship opportunities are available to all students; scholarships are available to qualified students.
- Students in the urban studies track with substantial prior learning experience may apply for credit through the Assessment and Accreditation of Prior Learning Experience program.
- Opportunities to participate in small seminar groups, research projects, and online courses are available.
- This major is offered as an online degree-completion program; admitted students may complete all major coursework online.

Major-Field Requirements
Organizational Leadership majors are required to complete a minimum of 33 credit hours from the following courses:
A. Required Courses (6 courses)
B. Concentrations
Choose one of the following tracks. One Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) course must be completed in the specialized track. WAC Courses are marked with an asterisk.
1. Communication - Choose 5 courses
2. Business Management - Choose 5 courses
3. Urban Studies - Choose 5 courses
Honors Program/University Scholars Requirements
Honors/Scholars students pursuing a major within the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs (Urban and Regional Studies, Organizational Leadership, Public Safety Management, Nonprofit Administration, Economic Development, and Environmental Studies) are required to take a minimum of 12 credit hours of 300-400 level honors courses as described below.
- Honors Thesis or Exit Requirements (choose one):
- The remaining 9 credit hours of Honors courses shall consist of any combination of contract courses and regular Honors offerings within the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs, with at least one course in the student’s major field.
