Occupational and Physical Therapy in the Schools, Graduate Certificate

Introduction

The certificate program is offered through the departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Health Sciences and Human Performance, Psychology, and Teacher Education. The eleven-to-fourteen-credit certificate enhances the skills of occupational and physical therapists currently working, or wishing to work, in K-12 school settings or special schools.

Admission Information

Degree-seeking graduate students who hold Regular status, and individuals who meet the minimum requirements for graduate certificate admission, will be considered for admission. Credits earned for the certificate may be applied toward a graduate degree, as approved by the student’s graduate program director and in keeping with the policies of the College of Graduate Studies. Degree and certificate admission requirements  are detailed in the Admissions section of this Catalog. With program permission, non-degree graduate students may enroll in the courses noted below, but non-degree graduate students cannot earn a University graduate certificate.

Applicants must have a graduate degree in occupational or physical therapy or be enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Program or Physical Therapy Program at Cleveland State University. Individuals with related undergraduate degrees such as speech pathology, audiology, nursing, education, psychology, or social work may be admitted at the discretion of the program.
