Introduction

Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work to provide assessment and intervention for persons with disabilities including persons with Autism. It is common for BCBAs to develop support plans that facilitate academic and social success within multiple settings such as homes, schools, and the community. The Certificate in Behavior Analysis is comprised of seven courses that are aligned with the 5th Edition Task List and approved as a Verified Course Sequence by the Association for Behavior Analysis International. The seven courses can also be utilized in order to meet the criteria to sit for the national qualifying exam leading to the Board Certified Behavior Analyst credential. Candidates seeking the national board designation BCBA credential will need to meet additional requirements prior to making application to sit for the qualifying exam including meeting supervision requirements as well as earning a graduate degree. The graduate degree needs to be from an accredited university and can be from any field of study. The Verified Course Sequence courses cannot be included as a part of a CSU degree program. Further information is available within Behavior Analyst Certification Board website which can be found at: http://bacb.com/.

Admissions

New students should apply through Graduate Admissions for the certificate program. Applicants need an undergraduate degree and a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale. Provisional admission is available to applicants with a baccalaureate grade point average of less than 2.75.
