The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a program that enables students to earn course credits towards a Master of Science in Civil Engineering as they finish their studies in the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree program. Courses are taken for simultaneous credit in both degree programs as outlined below. This allows obtaining the MSCE degree in an accelerated fashion.

Admission to Program

Students are eligible to apply after they have completed sixty credit hours in their undergraduate program, with at least 30 credit hours earned at CSU.

An application form for the Accelerated Master Program in Civil Engineering Can be found here at: https://csuengineering.formstack.com/forms/civil_envir_engineering_accelerated_masters_program_application

Program Requirements

Once admitted to the accelerated program, the student may complete up to 9 credit hours of graduate courses while enrolled in the undergraduate program. These 9 credit hours will count towards both the undergraduate and the graduate degrees. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better in the graduate courses the student enrolls in. Upon receipt of their bachelor’s degree, the student will automatically be admitted to the MSCE Graduate Program, and have up to 9 hours of graduate coursework (and grades) added to their graduate transcripts.
