OSM 414 - Material & Capacity Requirements Planning[3 credit(s)] Prerequisite: OMS/OSM 311 or permission of the instructor. This course provides an in-depth study of material requirements planning (MRP) and capacity requirements planning (CRP) in the manufacturing environment. MRP uses master production schedule (MPS), bills of material (BOM), inventory data, and other planning factors to derive a schedule of planned purchase and factory orders to fulfill the MPS requirements. CRP considers the output of MRP and existing orders already in process to identify and help correct capacity shortfalls or imbalances.
