SPH 529 - Spch/Lang of Hearing Impaired(2 credits)
Prerequisite(s): Course work in aural rehabilitation, speech and hearing science, and audiometry. Speech and language development and characteristic patterns of phonology and voice in hearing-impaired children; effects of hearing loss on reading and academic achievement; communication systems/techniques; therapeutic use of amplification, language, articulation, and auditory training; teaching of speech reading; specific therapeutic and diagnostic techniques and materials.
