UST 553 - Environmental & Sustainability Planning[4 credit(s)] Introduction to planning for environmentally sustainable cities and regions. Topics include the values embodied in, and development of, environmental planning as a field of planning; processes that generate the physical landscape; and the impacts of human settlements on the landscape, and issues related to urban sustainability and the built form. Local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to land use, resource protection, green buildings, green economies, and energy are featured. Students become familiar with planning methods and their use to plan for and develop environmentally sustainable communities.
