SOC 590 - Internship[3 credit(s)] The Graduate Internship course provides students with the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge and experience of the daily workings of specific community organizations and agencies. Internships allow students to witness the direct application of knowledge acquired in the classroom to the field, to assess the desirability of careers in particular areas, and to develop important contacts for future employment opportunities. Students may choose to substitute an internship for one tool skill elective. This option is not the same as the Master’s Research Internship and cannot substitute for the Master’s Research Practicum.
